The Housing Connection is set to deliver more programs to the community after receiving $6000 worth of funding through the ClubGRANTS scheme.

The latest round of funding was announced by Chatswood RSL Club on August 20.

“We are very grateful to have received this much-needed funding, which will enable us to continue our work in the local community,” said Nicola Hayhoe, CEO, The Housing Connection.

“We would like to thank Chatswood RSL Club for providing this boost to our charity, the support of which helps us to continue delivering our services.”

The funding will go towards the Artarmon Garden and Garage update. This encompasses the expansion of the gardens, the establishment of a healthy vegetable garden, and the enhancement of the BBQ area. This plan has been designed alongside residents, with the aim of creating a more inviting and inclusive environment. The garage will be converted into a functional communal space with improved lighting and electricity, fostering social interaction among residents. These initiatives aim to enrich the overall living experience at Artarmon while fostering community engagement. The aim is to improve the well-being and sense of purpose for both current and future residents. This project intends to foster healthier lifestyles, greater community engagement, enhance social inclusion and increase autonomy among residents and staff.

The $6000 in funding adds to the $15,000 that The Housing Connection has received through the ClubGRANTS scheme since 2020.

“Giving back to the community is a huge part of who we are as a club, and we’re proud that this ClubGRANTS funding helps groups like this continue to do the great work that they do,” said Tony Snowsill, CEO, Chatswood RSL Club.

Clubs across the state have provided more than $1 billion in funding since the inception of the ClubGRANTS scheme, making it one of the largest and most effective grants programs in Australia.

The ClubGRANTS program is made possible through the support of ClubsNSW, the NSW Government and local clubs. Further detail about ClubGRANTS can be found at www.clubgrants.com.au
